In most of the cases, the registrant details of the domain will be of the domain vendor. It is strongly recommend that the registrant details should have a valid email id of the domain owner. We have created this FAQ section to give awareness to the domain owners across the globe.
- What are the basics elements to run a website on internet?
A website requires Domain name, hosting Space and Web pages - What is a Domain Name?
Domain name is an identification label for your website in Internet. Domain name can be registered through domain name registrars (companies who accredited by ICANN). Normally domain registration validity is for 1 year, but there is option to renew your domain for 10 years. - Why domain renewal?
As said above, the validity for a domain is 1 year. It should renew before expiry date to keep your domain name safe. The different periods after expiring the domain are Grace period, Redemption period, pending delete mode. In the grace period the renewal can be done at normal rate, in redemption period the domain name can be restore at additional costs and in pending delete mode the domain cannot restore. After this the domain name will be available in open market for registration. - Domain Transfer?
The domain name transfer is nothing but move your domain name from one registrar to another registrar. This allows domain owners to transfer their domain name to a better registrars they wish. To transfer a domain name, the registrant email id (email id provided during registration) is important, as you need to respond (confirm your intent to transfer) to the registrar. - What Server Space does?
The server space is using to upload your web page files. Hosting space is a room to keep your website files and emails. The domain name is linked to the hosting server using Name server details. The selection of server depends on the application using in the website. For static web pages any server can be used. There are Windows, Linux and Unix servers available. - Difference between Static web pages and database driven website?
Static pages are simple html web pages using for small website, which does not require frequent update. The static website is updating manually. In database driven website, the data is taking from a database through different programs like asp, asp.net and php. Different databases are MySQL, MSSQL, MS Access, Oracle etc. The website owner will be updating the web pages through admin panel. - Difference between html and xhtml / CSS websites?
In normal html pages, html tables are used to control the design layout. In xhrml / CSS websites, CSS is used to control the design layout. These websites are friendly with search engines, fast downloading and adhere to web standards.
